BLAST FROM THE PAST: The 70's Trends are Making a Comeback

That's right, the fashion trend we never thought would make a comeback actually did. The surprising part about this trend? It actually looks really good. So let's go further into the biggest trend of this season.

ITEMS

Denim has basically always been a staple piece in everyone's wardrobes, from jeans to jackets. But this vintage trend has made denim on denim an okay thing to do in fashion, all you have to do in order to make it work is use different shades of denim and accessorize with black or tanned colors.

Another thing that has made a comeback is denim and suede skirts. Personally I think the suede skirts look better and are easier to accessorize if you're more into the simplistic look, but denim can be styled with colorful tops without looking too overbearing. Add a simple black belt to a suede skirt and keep everything else black and you instantly look fashionable. Wear anything from a turtle neck sweater to a floral blouse with a denim look and instantly look ready for winter and spring.

While i'm more than glad that maxi's have made a comeback, i'm still not entirely sure on the whole flared pants look. Don't get me wrong, it looks completely comfortable and stylish if you pair it with the right outfit, but it's a little too 70's for me, I guess it's something that has to grow on me, and i'm sure it will as most fashion trends do the more I see them. Maxi's have just always been a great trend in my opinion, and due to the modern changes that have been made to them throughout the decades, they've never really gone out of style.

OVERALL OPINION

All in all I think the 70's making a comeback is one of the best things that have happened in fashion this year. I'm all about the bohemian look and that's basically what the 70's was all about. When I go out and buy all of this stuff i'm going to envision myself as one of the characters from that 70's show... I wonder if that's what sparked the comeback. Anyways that's all from me today, my first blog post!
TIP: For relatively cheap 70's inspired clothes make sure you check out items from boohoo.com and definitely topshop, they're seriously all for this trend.

Introduction

Hello all! My name is Lucy and i'm sixteen years old from Melbourne, Australia. I've always wanted to run my own blog and once I decided tumblr wasn't the answer to all blogging needs (even though I still really love tumblr), I decided to finally do what I've always wanted to do and made this blog!

For my first post I thought it would be a good idea to just introduce myself. Besides being a fashion and beauty enthusiast, I also largely enjoy music, reading, writing, and the occasional exercise (surprising to many). As much as I love fashion, I have no current job therefore I have no money to dress exactly the way I would love to. So I'm going to use this blog as my little wishlist all the while giving tips and tricks for anyone in search of them.

Similarly to many people my age, I'm not very fond of school, and I am in deep need of a stress reliever. So I'm hoping this blog will be my little escape from reality. I am completely unaware of what I want to do when I leave school, but I'm starting to think it'll be something within this area.

So that's all I really have to say at the moment, hopefully this all works out, I'll be back with a proper post as soon as I have an idea.
